He received his Bachelors degree in 1999 at Pittsburg State University. He is a former theater teacher at Pittsburg High School and youth pastor. In 2008 Whitson hiked the Appalachian Trail where he captured scenes and images while keeping the emphasis and focus on God's handiwork and creation. He continues to capture images of landscapes, portraits and still life to share the story of God's love through his subjects in photography. Clayton is a Born again Holy Spirit filled Believer.
